Colliers International is sponsoring two charity events this month that will raise money for homeless and disadvantaged children.

The first event, Property Industry Foundation’s (PIF) 14th annual Charity Yachting Regatta, is being held today to raise more than $400,000 for the foundation’s various building projects to provide emergency accommodation and counselling facilities for homeless young people.

Hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club, the all-day event is expected to attract more than 100 boats and 1,700 guests. It will be staffed by more than 50 volunteers from the property and construction industry who will assist with event planning, selling raffle tickets and cleaning up after the event.

Colliers International Australasia CEO John Kenny said the network was proud and privileged to be the major partner of the Regatta.

“Last year’s event was an outstanding success and this year’s is sure to be even bigger and better” he said. “Partnering with PIF for the Charity Yachting Regatta is a great fit for our company values of client engagement, community and fun," he said.

“It is very important to give back to the communities in which we live and work, which is part of our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility.”

The Sydney regatta will be followed by the 2013 PIF Charity Sailing Challenge to be held at Melbourne’s Royal Brighton Yacht Club next Friday to raise $100,000 for Open Family Australia.
