Richardson & Wrench has continued its strategic growth by opening a new office in the highly sought after inner-Sydney suburb of Surry Hills.
R&W executive director Andrew Cocks said the new office would also service the suburb of Redfern, another desirable area due to its vicinity to the city as well as entertainment and nightlife.
“The inner suburbs of Sydney are extremely strong real estate performers benefiting from the growing demand for homes close to work and entertainment precincts,” he said.
“This is our second significant new office opening in the inner city, following the establishment of R&W Pyrmont/Glebe late last year. We have a very clear growth plan in which we intend to open new offices in areas that offer scope for good operators to grow profitable businesses.”
Mr Cocks said six months ago that the brand will continue its measured growth in the Sydney region.
The Surry Hills office will be managed by Gunnings Commercial directors Daniel Gunning and Tom Speakman.
“The principals of R&W Surry Hills are already area specialists, having each spent more than 10 years operating in the local area,” said Mr Cocks. “They have witnessed the transformation of Surry Hills over the past decade and have strong local community connections and will be a great addition to the outstanding Richardson & Wrench offices that operate in the surrounding areas.”
Daniel Gunning said the decision to establish a residential real estate business to run with the boutique commercial agency had been considered for several years and the opportunity to join the Richardson & Wrench network had presented the best option to establish in the residential sector.
“We are not newcomers to real estate, however we believe that in residential real estate there are significant benefits in being part of an established and well-respected brand such as Richardson & Wrench,” said Mr Gunning. “This area is very active in residential property at the moment and we wanted to be a part of it.
“It is an exciting opportunity for us to leverage our own knowledge and contacts in this locality and enjoy the benefits of being part of a broader network.”
Mr Speakman said that over many years operating in the Surry Hills area, he and Mr Gunning had played a role in the area’s transformation into a highly desirable place to live.
“We see a lot of scope to push the boundaries further in terms of creativity in marketing and presentation,” he said. “The business of real estate is coming full circle to a full service model that existed a generation or two ago.
“It’s part of the ‘one-stop shop’ operation that we will be offering and which we believe will become more common in the future.”
