The Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) has joined forces with The Smith Family to help young Australians in need.
The formal announcement was made at the annual REIQ Property Management conference in Brisbane earlier this month.
According to REIQ CEO Anton Kardash, The Smith Family charity were a natural fit when REIQ was looking for a new way of giving back to the community.
“The REIQ was first established in 1918 to improve the educational standards of real estate agents, and all these years later we continue to have education at the very heart of what we do,” he said.
“Likewise, The Smith Family recognises that education is the key to providing better futures for young people in need.
“Our aim is to support as many young Queenslanders in need as possible because every child deserves a chance for a better future.”
The Smith Family’s general manager in Queensland, Stephen Vines, said he was delighted that an industry leader such as REIQ had partnered with The Smith Family.
“They will no doubt inspire many of their members to support us so that we can continue to help even more young Australians in need to fully participate in their education and break the cycle of disadvantage,” he said.
“We have big plans for the partnership and are really excited to be working with such a professional and inspired organisation.”
The partnership will see the REIQ and its members fundraise for the educational charity through donations and sponsorships, as well as hosting a team of agents in this year’s Bridge to Brisbane.
