Elders Real Estate has named a veteran agent as their Top Rural Real Estate Salesperson for 2012.

Naracoorte Real Estate sales representative James Leake was awarded the title after recording several high profile properties in the region during the past year.

Mr Leake has been with Elders for more than 20 years.

In accepting the award, James said he was surprised when the calibre of the Elders rural salespeople Australia-wide was considered and that it wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the Naracoorte, Lucindale and Kingston branches, and the wider Elders Real Estate team.

“Although I have been consistently the top salesperson of South Australia, it is rarer to be in the national top ten. The first time was back in 1994 and it is the first time I’ve been the number one in Australia,” Mr Leake said.

"Elders Real Estate is a well recognised brand nationally, internationally and locally, and by using our wide network good results can be achieved when properties are priced correctly.

“Rural properties are still selling and agriculture is clearly on the radar of the astute investor from both here and overseas,” he said.

Elders head of real estate Brendan Whipps congratulated Mr Leake on his award and said his win was reflective of the success and hard work of the entire group.

“James is one of those people in our business who is performing to an extremely high standard every day and it’s important that we recognise them and the work they are doing for their buyers and sellers,” he said.

“What’s more, James’ win comes off the back of Elders Real Estate being named the number one real estate company in Australia by Real Estate Business magazine.”
