A US agency has offered to raise employees' pay by 15 per cent, but there’s a catch – they have to get a tattoo of the company logo first.

Over 40 employees at Rapid Realty in New York have taken up the offer to get inked with the company’s logo for the 15 per cent bonus, according to CBS News.

Company owner Anthony Lolli said the tattoos weren't his idea, but the plan began to take shape after an employee did it voluntarily.

“One of my top performing agents was showing a commercial space to a tattoo artist, and the artist said, ‘I’d like for you to be my first customer; have you ever thought about tattooing your company logo?’

“So he called me up in the middle of the tattoo and said, ‘Anthony, I’m getting the company tattooed on me, so I rushed over and took some pictures and asked, ‘How do I thank you?’ and he said, ‘You don’t need to thank me, I love the company’ and it just spiralled from there.”

The bonus applies no matter in what size or where employees get their tattoos.

Brooke Koropatnick told CBS that she got a small symbol behind the ear while another employee, Joseph Tighe, received a huge branding on his left arm.

“Right away when I came into the company I knew it was something different,” Mr Tighe, who has only worked at the office for a month, said.

“It was a brand that I could be proud of. It was a team, a family. I saw the opportunity, I took it.”

Mr Lolli said that while he hasn’t got one of the tattoos himself, he is considering it.

“I might get one when we open our hundredth location, he said. We grew from one location to 62 locations in 30 months, so that 100 number is quickly approaching.”
