LJ Hooker predicts it will sell more Australian and New Zealand properties to Chinese buyers after it signed a three-year strategic partnership with Chinese property website Juwai.com.
The partnership is good news for the network as Juwai.com has become the number one international property site in China and continues to dominate global Chinese communities, according to statistics provided by the website.
Chief executive of LJ Hooker, Georg Chmiel, said Australian agency brands were not well known in China.
“Our extra branding and advertising on Juwai.com will mean that Chinese buyers know and trust LJ Hooker long before they hear about any other agency network," he said.
"Our partnership with Juwai.com has been productive and popular with LJ Hooker franchisors. It brings buyer leads and many of our agents use it as a key selling point with Australian vendors. It helps them win listings.”
Co-CEO of Juwai.com, Simon Henry, said LJ Hooker had been the agency quickest to realise the potential of Chinese buyers and the most effective at tapping into that potential.
“Our Chinese users constantly ask us which agents they can trust in Australia and which ones can they work with," he said. "With this investment, LJ Hooker is telling them ‘You can trust us. You can work with us'," he said.
Last month, Juwai.com reported that Chinese buyer interest in Australian real estate was up significantly compared to 2012.
Reasons for an increased interest in Australian real estate were due to a stable housing market, regulatory protection and the close time zones between China and Australia, according to Juwai.com
