Agents around the country helped raise funds for breast cancer research in various Mother’s Day charity events, with one agent raising more than anyone else in the country.

Marketing co-ordinator at Coronis Realty in Queensland Nicole Zischke lost her mother several days before Mother’s Day last year, and this year decided to honour her memory by entering the Mother's Day Classic funrun. Nicole raised a total of $35,635, more than anyone else in the country.

“As a company, we are able to make this donation due to the hard work of our employees”, said managing director Andrew Coronis.

Ms Zischke said the family-style culture across the 17-office network allowed her to raise as much as she did.

“Due to the fantastic family culture Coronis prides themselves on, they jumped on board 100 per cent and continued to help push harder to see the number grow higher and higher," she said.

“As a company, they were so proud of everyone’s efforts and attitudes towards this cause that they decided to match dollar for dollar each donation, up to $15,000.”

Other groups were also involved in the Mother’s Day Classic, with Realmark being awarded a large-corporation trophy in Western Australia.

“It’s really wonderful to see so many of the Realmark family take part in this event and as a team, I couldn’t be prouder of what we managed to contribute,” executive director, and mother of two, Anita Percudani said.

With a 93-member team, they raised more than $6,500 for breast cancer research.

“Last year we raised $4,000 - which was absolutely fantastic – so to achieve over $6,500 in 2013 is something everyone at Realmark is very proud of and is a reflection of the business’s internal values,” she said.

130,000 Australians participated in the Mother’s Day Classic fun runs around the country.
