Harcourts International celebrated its 125th anniversary last week at its annual conference on the Gold Coast.

Nearly 700 staff members attended the three-day event to hear presentations from speakers including South African Robin Banks, top US realtor Bob Wolff, Chris Helder, and Tom Panos.

Other special guests included shark attack survivor and motivational speaker, Paul de Gelder, and rock singer Jimmy Barnes, who launched the event with a mini concert.

Harcourts International’s managing director Mike Green said this year’s conference has been the best event yet.

“The overall theme of this year’s conference is 'One team, celebrating 125 years', and throughout the event we have done just that,” he said.

“As a group, we have reflected upon Harcourts’ past and have celebrated everything that the future has in store.

“We have also put a strong focus on continuing to deliver an outstanding client experience and building one team, with one focus, on one client,” Mr Green said.

The group honoured its best auctioneers at the Harcourts National Awards ceremony.

Richard Kerr of Harcourts Alliance Joondalup was named Auctioneer of the Year for the fourth year in a row, while Ben Cannon of Harcourts Coorparoo was named Most Promising Auctioneer of the Year.

Mr Green said he was incredibly proud of both of their achievements.

“Richard is a fantastic auctioneer and an exceptional real estate professional. I’m incredibly proud of his achievements and it is great to honour him with this award," he said.

“Ben is such an outstanding up-and-comer and I’m sure we’ll be seeing great things from him in the near future. Both Richard and Ben are great representatives of the Harcourts brand and I couldn’t be prouder of their achievements.”
