The two heads of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) will today embark on a 48-hour bushwalk for charity.
REIQ CEO Anton Kardash and deputy CEO Peter Brown will participate in the Oxfam Trailwalker, which will require them to walk 100 kilometres from Mount Glorious to Mount Coot-tha.
Their team, Col. Rangers, aims to raise $8,000 to help overcome poverty around the world.
Mr Kardash said he was not daunted by the experience, having competed in the event for the first time last year.
“Last year, I was looking for something that was physically challenging because I like to keep fit but am not a gym junkie,” he said.
“Not only does the Oxfam walk improve your fitness, it does so with a meaningful purpose, which also supports a very worthwhile cause. It was this combination of altruism and physicality that appealed to me initially.
“Our team of four also features two family members, so the experience also strengthens our bonds of friendship.”
