One award-winning Victoria-based real estate group has recognised the need to “future-proof” their business, with the introduction of a franchise industry specialist who will be focussing on the future of the company’s IT and data platform.
Doug Hutchinson will be joining Barry Plant Real Estate - who won Property Management Company of the Year at the recent Australian Real Estate Awards - in late September to spearhead the group's IT platform.
Barry Plant Group CEO Mike McCarthy said the creation of this new role is an important step in securing the long-term growth of the business for the Barry Plant Group and all of its franchisees.
“In order to do this, we need to re-engineer our IT and data platform so it is more cohesive and seamless, and Doug brings that level of knowledge and experience to the business,” he said.
“Doug also has a strong understanding and experience in the franchisor/franchisee relationship, as well as the day-to-day challenges of running a small to medium business.
“Whilst we are market leaders in our core business, there are broader opportunities that we are yet to focus on in ancillary products and services to our existing client base, which will provide added value to both our customers and our franchisees.
“We are extremely excited about the appointment of Doug and we are looking forward to welcoming him to the group and the contribution he will be able to make in the coming years,” he said.
