Colliers International has been appointed to market Sunland Group’s $220 million Brisbane residential project, which is set to launch early next year.

Abian is Sunland’s first Brisbane CBD residential project and according to Sunland’s managing director, Sahba Abedian, it will be one of the finest pieces of architecture produced in the company’s 30-year history.

The residential tower, which will be built on the corner of Alice and Alberts streets opposite the botanic gardens, will offer 142 luxury apartments over 40 storeys.

The curvilinear building has been designed by Wood Marsh Architects and will be encased with a pewter glass wall with a subtle gold tint.

The residential offering in Abian will consist of two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, skyhomes, sub penthouses and an 1,100 square metre two-level penthouse, and will offer views of the Brisbane River and South Bank.

Abian will also provide the facilities of a luxurious hotel, including a 24-hour concierge service, and state of the art amenities.

Colliers International residential director Andrew Roubicek said he was delighted Sunland had appointed his company to sell their flagship residential development.

“The company has worked vigorously with Sunland on the project for the past 12 months,” he said.

“In conjunction with Sunland, we have undertaken extensive research to understand the design requirements and price points of the owner-occupier market in Brisbane.

“We believe the product mix and price points to be offered at Abian reflect this research and will exceed the expectations of the Brisbane market.”

Mr Roubicek said there was no question that the Brisbane property market had improved over the first half of 2013.

“Enquiry level is up substantially and this is flowing into transactions,” he said.

“At the moment, 95 per cent of stock available in the five-kilometre ring around the city consists of one- and two-bedroom apartments, but Brisbane has matured and the market is definitely ready for a prestigious residential development in a unique location, which Abian will undoubtedly provide.

“We are already seeing great interest for the product on offer in Abian. While the project will not be officially launched until early 2014, there have already been substantial enquiries to date.”
