The Real Estate Institute of South Australia (REISA) has announced  29 finalists for its Awards for Excellence to be held next month.

REISA CEO Greg Troughton said the awards were an important way to recognise excellence in the real estate profession and to provide mentors for future generations of practitioners.

The 106 finalists demonstrate ongoing best practice in all aspects of the real estate profession, Mr Troughton said. They highlight the excellent work being done in real estate from the large franchise groups down to the smaller operators.

“Finalists express the kind of innovative and dynamic approach to business that helps to set benchmarks and raise the professional profile of real estate practitioners.”

Award categories cover various areas of real estate, including residential and commercial sales, property management, business broking, rural sales, marketing and communications and innovation.

“I am impressed by the quality of the finalists this year,” Mr Troughton said. “The fact that the award criteria cover not only business acumen, but communications, innovation, service to clients and community services means we get to see a holistic approach to being a great practitioner and business owner.

“The award program aims to highlight the status and integrity of our profession in the eyes of the public, government and industry and reward those members of the profession who have elevated the good name and status of real estate.”

Where categories for the two events align, winners of REISA awards will move on to participate in the Real Estate Institute of Australia’s annual national awards.

“SA has a great record of national winners, which is fantastic recognition for our standards of practice and professionalism,” Mr Troughton said.

The 2013 REISA Awards will be held on Friday 11 October at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
