Richardson & Wrench Double Bay in Sydney has celebrated three decades of being in business.

The office has helped sell homes for prominent Australians, including the Murdochs, Fairfaxes, Stokes, Turnbulls, and Hemmes.

It has also handled the sales of some of Sydney’s most notable homes, including Boomerang, The Hermitage, Swifts, Paradis Sur Mer, Rona, Glanworth and Coolong.

Principal Michael Dunn attributed the company’s success and longevity to its abiding belief in a strong set of values and delivering on its promises.

“We are much more than just real estate agents,” he said. “Our company philosophy has been shaped around being a trusted adviser and confidante to our vendors, buyers, landlords and investors.

“It is a complex business that requires a great deal of consideration, nurturing, and caring. Some real estate agents can be viewed with a deal of cynicism. You need to earn people’s trust and you do that on your merits. It is not what we say that counts but what we do. Actions speak louder than words.”

Despite his longevity in the industry, Mr Dunn said he was enjoying real estate as much as he ever did.

“I believe that Richardson & Wrench Double Bay fills a very important role and I would like that legacy to continue,” said Mr Dunn. “We have a strong reputation in the east and there are people who seek out our services and return time and time again.

“When I started in real estate, my father said to me, 'You might enjoy success, but your reputation is the most important thing for you to guard. Protect your reputation at all costs'.

“So I looked for a company that stood for those kinds of values and I found Richardson & Wrench. It stands for everything; for integrity, for the important values, for professionalism.

“It suited me and fits like a glove, and I truly believe that unlike other companies, Richardson & Wrench does stand for those values that matter.”

As part of the 30-year milestone, Mr Dunn’s son James has been made a partner in the business. James, who has been in real estate since 2003, was winner of the R&W Rookie of the Year in 2011.
