A Victorian group has reported it has seen outstanding results in an improving Victorian residential property market.

The Barry Plant Group has recorded a growth of 20.1 per cent in the number of sales and an increase of 26.6 per cent on earnings for the 2013 calendar year, compared to 2012.

Not since the property boom in 2010 has the group exceeded 1,000 sales in a month. However, in October and November, the group exceeded sales of 1,000 properties in each month – the first time it has ever achieved back-to-back months at this level.

In November, the Barry Plant Group enjoyed an increase of 40.3 per cent gross commission on sales premiums and 30.1 per cent in sales volume in comparison to the November figures for 2012.

Barry Plant director and CEO Mike McCarthy said agents still have to work hard on behalf of their vendors to achieve these good results.

“It is about doing the small things well – marketing the property and negotiation – you get those two elements right and you will achieve the result your clients are looking for,” he said.
