Just two months after launching, a website that provides free listings has experienced unprecedented growth and support from the industry.
Since the new community-based portal listing, Homely.com.au launched in December of last year over 2,000 real estate offices have signed up more than 100,000 properties.
According to the site's co-founder, Jason Spencer, agents have been calling out for an alternative to the big property listing websites.
“It’s pretty clear from the feedback we are receiving that agents have had enough of being locked into the established portals and their pricing strategies. We are seeing an undercurrent where agents simply want change,” he said.
The site promises to turn the real estate portal industry on its head, with no banner ads, a clean design and no listing costs for agents.
“Homely is positioning itself as a unique way to solve real estate search with a consumer friendly, banner ad free design combined with social and community platforms,” Mr Spencer explained.
According to Paul Pettenon, principal of Raine&Horne Concord, Homely.com.au offers an entirely new experience for his clients.
“We wanted to be on board Homely immediately, it's unique look and feel of how listings are showcased combined with the search experience and suburb information provided by consumers allows buyers a much needed alternative for searching properties," he said.
A number of groups have already pledged their support for the site including, Ray White, LJ Hooker, Harcourts, Belle Property, Starr Partners, Raine&Horne and RT Edgar.
