Homely.com.au, a website that provides free property listings, has appointed a former executive from a national property website to help drive its growth.

Rocky Bartolotto, former Domain executive and independent auctioneer, will lead product sales and listings growth for the website, which was launched in December last year.

Mr Bartolotto worked as the national online manager and NSW sales director at Domain, and remains a director and auctioneer at Auction Services.

“We are thrilled to bring someone with Rocky’s depth of knowledge and calibre to our close-knit team,” Homely CEO Jason Spencer said.

“Rocky’s deep experience across both the real estate agent and consumer portal space will allow us to take Homely to the next level and connect with agents across Australia who are wanting a fresh alternative to the way real estate is presented."

Only last week the fledgling listing site reported that 2,000 agents had signed up to showcase their properties, equating to around 100,000 listings.

Mr Bartolotto will work directly with co-founders Jason and Adam Spencer, focusing on the implementation of the strategic plan for the growth of Homely.com.au across Australia, and establishing partnerships with real estate companies.

The news comes as another listing website sets to join what is already a busy market. To be developed by new industry body Certified Practicing Real Estate Agents (CPREA), the site will be industry-owned and free to members for the first year.
