Four-time top agent aims for national title

One of the country’s best real estate agents has topped his network for the fourth year running, and is looking to top the country later this year.

At the 2014 PRDnationwide Annual Awards gala dinner last week, George Rafty was once again named the network's best.

The accolade comes after a tremendous 2013, in which Mr Rafty was ranked 12th in Real Estate Business' Top 100 Agents, and was the only regional nominee for the Sales Agent of the Year award at the Real Estate Business Awards.

Speaking with Real Estate Business, Mr Rafty was humble in his acceptance of the award.

“There are a lot of good agents in our organisation, so I’m very pleased and honoured to accept this award,” he said.

“The last 12 months has been very good for me and my effective business unit. Joe Olsen keeps me and my days structured, while I have Ashley Dodt as a buyer manager. I have a lot of support from the backend, which lets me focus on what I do best.

“I’m a little bit old school, I believe the secret to success is hard work. After 22 years in the business, pretty much all of my business is with past clients and referrals, which goes hand in hand with doing the right thing by people.”

Mr Rafty also paid special tribute to other top performers in the franchise network, singling out second-placed agent Dane Queenan from Port Stephens for a special mention, along with accomplished PRDnationwide Hunter Valley saleswomen Cathy Cattall and Charlie Lund.

He described his colleagues as “exceptional agents” working in "much more difficult markets".

Mr Rafty said he was currently preparing his submission for the 2014 Real Estate Business Awards, and hopes to improve on last year’s result.
