High-flying, drug dealing real estate agent Patrick Ryan McCann could be back at work within the next few weeks following a successful bail application made in the Brisbane Supreme Court.
Mr McCann is facing up to 34 drug-related charges ranging from trafficking, supplying and possession of methylamphetamine following a September raid on his home and office.
Bail was granted on the back of a $100,000 surety posted by his parents and a claim made by a potential employer that he would be given work should he post bail. Bail is conditional also on attending rehabilitation for three weeks, to live with one of his parents and report three times per week to police.
It is rumored Mr McCann will be working for a Queensland property developer.
A spokesperson from LJ Hooker confirmed the franchise group did not promise Mr McCann a job following his drug treatment program.
The court heard Mr McCann admitted drugs found in his home as a result of the search were his. A police search found a quantity of methylamphetamine hidden in a stash, along with scales and drug utensils, under his oven.
Crown prosecutor Jacqueline Ball said Mr McCann admitted the drugs found in his home were his and he had been supplying them to two associates for longer than two years.
“He did stress it wasn’t for financial gain, it was just helping out those associates by sourcing methylamphetamine and supplying to them,” Ms Ball told the court.
Police documents allege Mr McCann had three regular customers and nine supply sources from who he would purchase drugs.
Mr McCann's defence lawyer, Bill Potts, said his client had made full admissions to police, but would contest the charge for drug trafficking.
