Perth property group Realmark joined forces with Samaritan's Purse to donate gifts to disadvantaged children in Vietnam over Christmas.
The donation was part of Operation Christmas Child, a project run by Samaritan’s Purse, which aims to bring joy to children in need through the donation of shoeboxes filled with gifts.
Realmark staff, clients, friends and family members donated a total of 1,011 boxes to children in Vietnam this year.
More than 70 Realmark staff also volunteered to help wrap and prepare gifts at the Samaritan’s Purse warehouse in Balcatta in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Realmark executive director Anita Percudani praised the generosity of the group’s staff and clients who contributed.
“In each of the five years we’ve been involved with Operation Christmas Child, the contribution from our staff has grown,” Ms Percudani said.
“I’m very proud to say that in 2014, the team has managed to send over 1,000 boxes, which I hope will make this Christmas that bit special for so many children.”
Ms Percudani said it was rewarding to make a difference to the lives of those less fortunate around the world, no matter how small the gesture.
Globally, Operation Christmas Child has sent more than 100 million shoeboxes to children in more than 130 countries since 1993.
