Australia’s two big listing portals have developed apps to capitalise on what may be the biggest technology launch of the year.
Property buyers who use realestate.com.au and domain.com.au will be able to house hunt with Apple Watch, the much-hyped device that is due for release on April 24.
Apple Watch wearers will be able to use Domain to search listings, schedule inspections and receive instant notifications about properties.
The REA Group app will also provide property alerts while also giving buyers the chance to voice record notes, which will then be synchronised to their realestate.com.au account.
Domain chief product officer Damon Pezaro said an increasing number of people now use their mobile devices to search for homes when they’re out and about or relaxing at home.
“Finding a place to live can be a very personal process. It often takes up a lot of time and actually becomes a big part of your life,” Mr Pezaro said.
“So it was important for us to create a useful tool that integrates the search for property seamlessly into a person’s life, making their overall property experience more enjoyable and efficient.”
REA Group chief product officer Henry Ruiz said the realestate.com.au app has been developed to be intuitive, easy and fun to use.
“We’ve also created an app that gives real estate agents a new way to effectively market their properties to audiences in the locality of their property,” Mr Ruiz said.
“This opens up a whole new realm of possibilities to capture the interest of potential buyers who stumble across properties in their immediate area.”
The new apps will be available after the Apple Watch is released.
