Harcourts has now raised more than $3 million in funds since establishing its charitable arm, with another major fundraiser just weeks away.

The Harcourts Foundation and Harcourts staff will participate next month in a fundraiser that aims to tackle domestic violence.

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes will take place across Australia on May 8, with more than $13,000 raised so far for this event.

The Harcourts Foundation has raised more than $3 million for local and international causes since being set up in 2008.

The foundation collects part of its funding from off-the-top contributions from agents’ commissions and salary sacrifices from head office employees.

More than 250 of the group’s 780 offices throughout the world also donate a percentage of every sale to the foundation.

Harcourts managing director Mike Green said the foundation had touched the lives of thousands of people around the world.

“Internationally, the Harcourts Foundation has made more than 500 grants to community groups, helping with everything from supporting programmes for women affected by violence, at-risk youth, children with disabilities and to help make communities safer,” Mr Green said.

“Our Harcourts businesses are wholly committed to making a positive difference to the communities where they operate and we're incredibly proud of the work the Harcourts Foundation is doing.”
