A key member of the realestate.com.au sales team has been seconded overseas as parent company REA Group targets further international growth.
Tom Ainsworth, director of residential sales at realestate.com.au, will be seconded to US portal Move Inc.
This is the first secondment since REA Group acquired a 20 per cent stake in Move Inc in November 2014.
Mr Ainsworth will serve as senior vice-president for go-to market and sales, with his two-year stint starting in September.
REA Group chief executive Tracey Fellows said this is a great opportunity for the company to share knowledge with its US partner.
“We hope it’s the first of many opportunities we can offer our people as we grow our business internationally,” Ms Fellows said.
REA Group also has business interests in China, Malaysia, Germany, France, Italy and Luxembourg.
Mr Ainsworth said he was excited by the opportunity to work in Silicon Valley and in the biggest residential real estate market in the world.
Ben Auchettl will become acting leader of the southern sales team once Mr Ainsworth heads overseas.
