Ten offices have combined to create an attention-grabbing promotion that resulted in dozens of sales.
In a first for LJ Hooker, 10 of the group’s Canberra offices combined to hold a black-tie auction event that stretched over two days.
LJ Hooker had 56 pages of properties in the local real estate guide the week before the first auction night.
The biggest sale was a five-bedroom Macquarie house that sold for $987,000 and set a suburb record.
The Macgregor record was also broken with a six-bedroom house that fetched $870,000.
ACT regional manager Ben Mitchell told REB that the 10 LJ Hooker offices, in conjunction with head office, wanted to do something that would catch the attention of buyers and sellers.
“LJ Hooker has an undeniable strength in the ACT, selling one in every five properties listed,” he said.
“With the strength of 10 offices coming together – which has never been done in the entire network – this event is a first of its kind and will be an ongoing highlight of our calendar.”
Mr Mitchell said LJ Hooker plans to hold more of these auction nights in both the ACT and across the country.
The offices that took part were Belconnen, Canberra City, Dickson, Gungahlin, Kaleen, Kippax, Manuka, Queanbeyan, Project Marketing ACT, Tuggeranong, Weston Creek and Home Loans ACT.
