The Real Estate Institute of Victoria board has elected a fifth-generation agent as its new president.

Geoff White, the branch manager for Lucas Real Estate's Yarra Edge office, has been brought on as president for 2015-16.

Mr White has a long history of involvement with the REIV, including a previous stint as president in 2003-04.

He has acted as a director during 1999-2007 and 2014-2015, and has served on numerous REIV committees and as chairman of the Auction Chapter Committee.

Mr White, who started his real estate career in 1984, said he was privileged to again serve REIV members as their president.

“The REIV board is united in its focus to improve our real estate profession and follow the good work of the previous board,” he said.

Meanwhile, Allard Shelton director Joseph Walton has been elected as senior vice-president, while Malcolms Real Estate chief executive Frank Hellier has been elected as vice-president.

The institute also welcomed two new directors: WB Simpson & Co partner Richard Simpson and Woodards Blackburn director Cameron Way.
