If you are just starting out in digital marketing or you want to improve what you’re already doing, there are three key areas you should be focusing on.
These days, clients expect agents to be digital marketing wizards. We show you how excelling digitally can be as easy as nailing a few basics.
Steve Carroll, head of sales at realestate.com.au, is an expert in digital marketing. He gave REB his top tips for agents looking to beef up their digital presence.
Embrace video
By 2020, 80 per cent of online content will be video. Video is taking off in real estate listings and is becoming mandatory in multi-channel marketing campaigns. Even if you don’t fully integrate video into your marketing strategy, it is a great profiling tool and one you can get started on straightaway. However, keep in mind that audiences do not watch 96 per cent of online videos in full because they are too long or do not value.
Understand online search
It is worth asking your customers how they search for an agent and properties. Do they type certain phrases on Google or do they utilise other online channels? It’s worthwhile investing time to see who is doing well on social, and focus on what content they are posting and getting the most engagement with.
Be consistent with your brand
By having a consistent digital footprint in your communications, listings and social, vendors and property seekers know what to expect from you. Who you are online should reflect who you are in person.
Agents who follow these three steps should see increased engagement with their consumers, which will help them build their database, gain more leads and improve their chances of being referred online.
