A principal agent has proven that developing staff and creating a strong culture can lead to business success in the real estate industry, as his team opens their fourth office in just two years.

Principal of three Hunter Region Stone Real Estate offices David Tanchevski added a fourth office this week when Stone Real Estate Toukley on the Central Coast became part of his regional chain.

Agent numbers across all offices have multiplied to more than 20 during that time.

Stone Hunter Valley and Stone Kurri Kurri are the most successful in their respective areas while Stone Kurri Kurri agent Renee Bean-Wyper holds the area record for highest number of sales. There were just over 450 sales across all three offices in the first two years.

Mr Tanchevski believes the secret behind his success is the culture and talented people that work for him.

“I’m fortunate enough to have had great people join my offices – highly talented, motivated and genuine, Mr Tanchevski said.

“But what gives us the edge I feel is that I’m there for them.

The principal agent explained that being accessible to his staff, regular meetings and regular training programs are of the highest priority to his agency.

He also pointed out that during COVID principal agents can still have a team first mentality due to modern technology.

“I’ve ensured especially during the pandemic that I’m meeting weekly with individuals and that’s on top of the weekly sales meeting and our monthly combined meeting for the whole group,” Mr Tanchevski said.

“During COVID we do Zoom meetings daily and I make sure everyone’s alright.”

Despite developing a strong culture, Mr Tanchevski also notes the key tailwind of selling in a key regional area where city buyers looking for a lifestyle change purchase property in.

Even in this current economic environment we’re selling all the stock that comes onto our books,” Mr Tanchevski said.

Stone Real Estate head of franchise Luke Cameron commended the work Mr Tanchevski has done for the Stone Real Estate brand.

“Opening a fourth office in just two years is quite remarkable,” Mr Cameron said.

“David’s leadership credentials and skills are excellent, proven by the high level of respect and admiration he’s won from all his staff – and then he’s gone on and replicated that with multiple high-performing offices. Reaching those levels of success with one office is a huge achievement, and now doing so with four is truly outstanding.

“David has the ability to bring out the best in people in a way that is rare to find.”
