Commercial property specialists need to change the way they do business, as pigeonholed agents will likely see profits fall.
LJ Hooker commercial managing director Mathew Tiller has welcomed a string of new sales, leasing and asset management specialists over the last six months who have been drawn to expand their profiles across industrial, retail, office, hotels, site sales and agribusiness.
“COVID-19 has shown the industry that if you’re pigeonholed to one area and discipline, like office sales or retail leasing, your potential can be limited,” Mr Tiller said.
“With COVID-19 impacting everything from office usage to restaurant capacities, agents and property managers who work across diverse markets will have greater security and profitability in their agencies.”
Mr Tiller explained that agents across his commercial network are allowed the freedom to list, sell, lease and manage properties across any market, to help expand their portfolio during this challenging time for commercial property specialists.
“COVID-19 has underlined the importance of freedom and flexibility for commercial property specialists which is why opportunities within the LJ Hooker Commercial network are proving popular,” he said.
LJ Hooker Commercial nationwide network has welcomed a string of established talent amid the backdrop of COVID-19, including:
- Ryan Abbott – LJ Hooker Commercial Perth: Mr Abbott joined LJ Hooker Commercial’s WA-based franchise after a career that spanned two decades at Knight Frank, where he was jointly company secretary and senior director of asset management services.
- Tony Crane – LJ Hooker Commercial South Sydney: Formerly of Colliers International, Mr Crane spent five years heading up the agency’s South Sydney leasing team.
- Daniel Cullinane – LJ Hooker Commercial Toowoomba: An investment sales specialist who has delivered successful campaigns across Queensland in directorship roles with a Brisbane-based developer and Colliers International.
- Michael Loupis – LJ Hooker Commercial St George | Canterbury: With city-fringe experience spanning independent agencies and Ray White Commercial, Mr Loupis has worked with clients including Meriton and Dymocks.
