Real estate agents are finding social networking sites useful for attracting potential buyers as more and more turn to the internet to search for their dream home.
According to First National real estate more than 80 per cent of potential buyers now look on the internet first before making any purchasing decisions.
As such, agents embracing social networking opportunities are being rewarded with sales, listings and an increased community profile.
Former real estate agent Pavel Ovchinnikov told Real Estate Business that for some agents the thought of using the internet to attract customers and sell properties can be overwhelming.
“It is vital that agents communicate with potential buyers on their level. However, talking shop over the internet and producing successful, eye catching internet marketing can often overwhelm agents,” he said.
Mr Ovchinnikov’s company Real Estate In Motion helps agents communicate with the younger market by producing video tours of listed properties.
The video tours allow consumers to see a property online.
Mr Ovchinnivok said his company currently services a wide cross section of properties from million dollar homes in Bowral to three bedroom houses in the outer suburbs of Western Sydney.
The videos can be linked to an agent’s website or sent to a potential buyer’s phone.
Mr Ovchinnivok said the videos make communication between agents and customers easy and effective.
“There’s a lot we can do to introduce a client’s video tour to new buyers, but having a thorough, well established database is a major success factor in online marketing, just as it is with traditional mail campaigns,” he said.
“These video’s will help agents increase their database very quickly.”
