After a long and successful career in real estate, renowned agent and subject matter expert David Priest is joining Entry Education as their National Lead Trainer and Assessor. David's Career Journey
At 17 years old, David began his career. He was living in London at the time. Since then, he has worked in cities across Australia, from Melbourne and Sydney to the sunny Gold Coast. Abroad, he has sold homes to VIP’s in Hong Kong, China, India and Japan. David's experience spans all sectors of the industry. He's sold property to world leaders and managed deals for international hotels, islands and key development sites around Australia.
Someone passionate about giving back and supporting the next generation of real estate professionals, David earned his TAE qualifications about 15 years ago. He has since worked at Deloitte and other leading organisations, taught at some of the country's top universities, and was previously a senior lecturer in all real estate qualifications at the REIV and REIQ.
David has always made sure to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and regulations. He passes this insight on to other trainers and assessors on a daily basis.
"I encourage others to up-skill in the most recent TAE qualifications. I'm a big believer in qualifications as well as CPD training and collaborating to make sure we're all assessing with the same consistent approach," said David.
What David Brings to Entry Education
David Priest has been working with Entry Education for over a year, but now he's joining the team full-time. In his new role, he will bring 40-plus years of experience to the table to shape the future of training at the organisation.
New students can expect engaging, effective, and practical training sessions from David and other trainers. He believes that students learn best when they can engage with the material hands-on.
"Training now has become much more skilful than, say, 10 or even 20 years ago," David said. He understands that today's students want to learn by doing, not just by listening.
To achieve this, David breaks down complex ideas into simple steps applicable to what a new agent will encounter on the job. He uses real-world examples to show students how the lessons relate to their future careers. He also embraces innovation.
"I always modernise my delivery approach with what's relevant to them at the time," said David. "My teaching philosophy is not to leave anyone behind. I'll always provide extra support where needed."
For David, it's about being clear and practical—not just passing assessments but feeling confident about entering the real estate industry.
"I help my students be more competitive by developing their people and customer service skills. I even touch on how to write a CV and nail a job interview."
