From Selling Suits To Property: How This Young Coronis Agent Soared To Great Heights

At the age of 25, Jack Harvey has achieved more than he ever thought possible.

In less than six years, he has sold 350 properties, he’s set up an EBU, won Newcomer of the Year plus the prestigious Excellence in Real Estate Award at the 2017 REB Awards, bought a million-dollar-house and has qualified for his third Centurion holiday with Coronis for beating his previous PB.

Quite impressive considering he dropped out of university at the age of 19 without a clear vision of what he wanted to do or where he was going. However his luck changed when he was discovered selling suits in Myers and he made the leap of faith to join Coronis’ On The Job Training (OTJT) Program.

“As a 19-year-old, I knew real estate was going to be tough, but I’m really glad I started at Coronis through the OTJT program, because everything I learnt in that program is what got me up to speed and set me up to succeed,” Mr Harvey said. 

“From teaching me what I needed to do, what to say, where to go and how to set my day up – I learnt everything I needed to know to list and sell, and five years later I still do those same actions, so it proved to be a really solid foundation for me.

“Coronis helped me get to a level where I wanted to be, writing a certain amount each quarter and now it’s up to me as to how high I go which is one of the good things about the recent changes the business has gone through, everything is based on my goals now and exactly what I want to achieve. 

“One of my goals was to write $1 million+ GCI this FY, which I am on track to do which is exciting for me.

“The leaders have helped me build a plan around my goals to ensure I achieve them so things like setting up an EBU so that I have Brendon helping me prospect and set appointments, expanding my core area and market presence outside of Bald Hills so that I have more opportunities and increasing my marketing, especially when we moved office locations. 

“Another big factor helping me is our admin team who take care of all our paperwork, contracts, property marketing specifics, communications touchpoints etc for me so that all Brendon and I literally need to do is set appointments, list and sell.

“By having those time-consuming tasks taken care for me, means that I can focus and spend all my energy on listing and selling, but still have the time to enjoy my life and a round of golf because I’m only working five days a week so it’s a real bonus for me. 

“I think the other bonus for us is the amount of leads that Coronis’ rent roll and the marketing team generate for us, which get distributed across the agents in the office, we’re not competing with a principal so any leads that come in for the area get distributed evenly which makes a difference.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have found a team of people that I like and enjoy working with, and Cass (Saab) has done a great job in creating a team culture that we all want to be a part of. Work is a lot easier when you’re surrounded by mates and a team of people who want to see you hit your goals.”
