A new business specialist has been elevated to the position of partner at Highland Property Group.
Blake Mariner’s 10-year anniversary with the network has been marked with triumph. As the head of new business, he took out the award for Business Development Manager of the Year, Property Management, at the REB Awards 2024 held in February. Now, the property management professional has been made partner at the firm where he’s spent the last decade.
Calling it a “significant milestone” in his own career, as partner Mariner said he is “eager to contribute to the continued success and growth of the business that has provided me with an incredible amount of support and guidance from day one”.
Having worked across leasing, property management and sales, he settled into the new business division eight years ago, where he’s continued to hone his craft.
Mariner took out the REB Award for BDM of the year for the first time in 2021, and was appointed team leader of the department in 2022.
Speaking of his stature in the industry, Mariner has been selected as a presenter at the 2024 edition of the upcoming Australasian Real Estate Conference (AREC).
Highland Property Group CEO, David Highland, said he’s proud of Mariner’s tenure and performance, having witnessed his growth at the company.
“Blake has been a real asset to Highland since he started with us in 2014. I have greatly enjoyed watching his career progress,” Highland said.
The chief executive commented that Mariner’s career closely mirrors his own, and described the experience of working with him as “extremely rewarding”.
“To see him now as a partner of Highland is fantastic and it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving candidate”.
Nodding to his recent recognitions, Mariner was quick to credit the work of his team for the high level of success they have together achieved, which includes keeping rent arrears under 2 per cent and rent roll growth averaging 500 properties per year.
“I work extremely hard with the aid of my fantastic team so to take home BDM of the Year for the second time and be asked to speak at a large industry conference such as AREC is not only an incredible feat for me personally but also a reflection of our wider team – without whom I wouldn’t be able to produce the results that I do,” he said.
“It’s incredibly humbling to be recognised by industry bodies for my achievements in real estate,” he added.
