One of Australia’s leading female agents has defied critics to increase her sales significantly this year, while juggling the demands of being a new mum.

In 2016, REB Top 50 Women in Real Estate agent and principal of Laing+Simmons Double Bay and Bondi Beach, D’Leanne Lewis not only become a parent, but has also achieved more than $100 million in sales.

Ms Lewis said becoming a mother has changed her life, but it hasn’t made her less successful career-wise.

“I work harder now than ever to be a great role model for my daughter and the best agent for my clients,” she said.

Ms Lewis said her secret lies in balancing her time and having a strong support structure.

“I was always pretty good with time management, but now it is safe to say I have honed my time management skills even further. But I am also fortunate to have a very supportive husband and family.

“I don’t sacrifice my daughter for work and my work for my daughter.”

Ms Lewis finished fourth in the REB Top 50 Women in Real Estate ranking in 2016, with 66 listings, 59 properties sold and $187 million in 39 average days on market.

Her top sales in 2016 include the iconic Bronte Shell House for $9.7 million, 20A Benelong Crescent in Bellevue Hill for $5.8 million and the landmark Rose Garden House at 92 Victoria Rd, Bellevue Hill which sold before auction for $7 million.
