As curfews lift and the radius for exercise and travel expands to 25 kilometres, outdoor auctions can now return across Melbourne.
In a press conference on Sunday 18 October, Premier Daniel Andrews said 2020 had proven, “without doubt, the incredible courage of Victorians”.
“We have found it in ourselves to stay the course. And as a state – millions strong – we are defeating this virus.”
He conceded that other places around the world have not been so successful: “We are seeing states and cities, not so different from our own, overwhelmed by their second wave.”
“Back in August and at our peak, we reported 725 daily cases. At the same time, the UK recorded 891.”
AT the time Mr Andrews was addressing the media, just two CPVID-19 cases were reported state wide. At the same time, the UK hit 16,171.
“As we continue easing our restrictions – they are being forced to increase theirs,” the Premier added.
As a result of the loosened restrictions, real estate auctions – both residential and commercial – are now permitted outdoors.
These will be limited to 10 people, plus the minimum number of people required to run the conduct.
Commercial real estate pre-arranged inspections can also resume, but are also limited to one agent and one prospective purchaser or tenant.
More to come.
