Scheduled auctions are still on their way up, with 1,825 homes set to go under the hammer this coming weekend.

The latest from CoreLogic has revealed that it’s an increase from the 1,757 auctions that took place last week, although still lower than the 2,590 auctions that took place over the same weekend last year.

According to research analyst Caitlin Fono, Sydney and Melbourne are both reporting increases on last week’s figures.

Sydney is expecting 899 homes to go under the hammer this weekend, compared with 851 last week.

It’s slightly lower than numbers from the same time last year, when 947 homes went to auction.

Melbourne looks likely to hold 637 auctions this week, which is an improvement on last week’s reported 611 auctions.

But it is “significantly lower” than the same week last year, when 1,242 auctions were held across the Victorian capital.

Canberra is reporting the largest amount of auctions among the smaller markets, with 95 homes looking to find buyers, with Brisbane not far behind, with 88 auctions expected.

Adelaide has booked in 78 auctions for the weekend, while Perth looks to have almost doubled its scheduled auctions compared with last week’s figures, with 28 pencilled in over this week.
