Sydney real estate auctioneer Clarence White of Menck White Auctioneers won a record fifth NSW auctioneering title this week.

Peer-judged by prominent auctioneers and real estate professionals, the REINSW Award for Excellence in Auctioneering is adjudicated based on a live auction competition.

The competition, now in its 25th year, saw 14 contestants compete in the day one heats.

Five auctioneers then advanced to the final on day two, which was taken out by Mr White.

Reflecting on the win, Mr White stated that it is a fantastic reward for a tremendous amount of hard work and follows victories in 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2020. It makes him the only individual to have won the NSW Senior Auctioneering Competition on five separate occasions.

“I just feel so blessed and grateful,” Mr White commented.

Now, the auctioneer has his sights set on the Australasian Auctioneering Championships, to be held in Sydney this October.

“It will be an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to represent NSW again at the Australasian Championships. I certainly have unfinished business there,” he commented.

Mr White is a four-time competitor and a two-time top five finalist at the Australasian Championships, notably the runner-up in 2017.

The Australasian Auctioneering Championships is being held in Sydney this year at Royal Randwick Racecourse. “It should be a great spectacle. I encourage anyone in Sydney with an interest in the auctioneering craft to get along and watch.

“They don’t come here often, so this is a once in a 20-year opportunity for local agents and real estate enthusiasts to come and see the event,” he concluded.
