Years living in China have given a Sydney principal a unique capacity to connect with local and international buyers.

Emma Parsons Challen is a Hunters Hill local in every sense of the word. For four generations, her family has called this prestigious pocket of northern Sydney home.

As her business career developed, work opportunities took Parsons Challen to Beijing, where she became fluent in Mandarin and built flourishing professional networks in the local community.

Now, having returned to her home turf, Parsons Challen is keen to bring her insights to her new role as principal of Raine & Horne Hunters Hill.

“Having lived and worked in China allows me to understand many of our local and international buyers intimately,” she shared.

“I’m proud to use my international experience and multilingual ability to help my clients achieve their property goals. I see this as my unique point of difference for Hunters Hill home owners.”

The Sydney property market is challenging, but Parsons Challen believes that the core ingredients for success are the same: authentic human connection, and an unparalleled knowledge of the local area.

“My success in real estate sales is built on a straightforward approach, an intrinsic understanding of people and the Hunters Hill community, and specialised customer service,” she said.

“My family has lived in Hunters Hill for generations, so I am very familiar with the area and can provide local insights often overlooked by other agents,” she noted. “I know lots of people in this region and don’t have to think twice about where a street or road is situated.”

So far, two buyer cohorts have dominated the agency’s real estate sales.

One major buyer group are Western Sydney business owners who, having achieved success, are relocating to the Hunters Hill and Gladesville area to be within reach of well-regarded private schools.

“These buyers typically seek properties on larger blocks, and where possible, access to the water while still being within 25 minutes of family and friends in Western Sydney,” said Parsons Challen.

Another cohort behind some of the agency’s most lucrative sales has been cash-rich buyers from China.

“Strong connections in China have been instrumental in connecting high-net-worth buyers with local property owners to achieve record prices, often for properties site unseen in the Hunters Hill and Gladesville region,” said Parsons Challen.

Looking forward, the principal is excited to continue recruiting top real estate talent and building a successful business with “an iconic but also very progressive brand”.
