CoreLogic reports that auction volumes for the week ending 18 August 2024 continue the rise, as seen in recent weeks.

CoreLogic reports that auction volumes across the country are set for an upswing, with 2,043 capital city homes scheduled for auction over the week ending 18 August 2024.

It’s a considerable increase from the 1,891 homes that went to auction the week ending 11 August 2024.

Although Melbourne is once again set to be the busiest auction market this week with 858 homes to go under the hammer, auction volume has dropped from 897 auctions the week prior.

Sydney’s auction volume is expected to increase with 783 properties scheduled for auction, a significant rise from last week’s 645 auctions.

Within the smaller capital cities, Brisbane’s 159 homes slated for auction mark a moderate increase on the 144 auctions that occurred last week, and also represent the most activity across the less populous cities.

Adelaide’s auction volume has fallen with the city’s 143 auctions just shy of the150 homes that went under the hammer last week.

Canberra’s 86 properties currently scheduled for auction should represent a sizeable increase from the 43 auctions held one week ago.

Perth’s auction volume is also set to rise with this week’s 13 auctions, marking an increase from the 11 homes taken to auction last week.

Tasmania currently has one auction pencilled in, staying consistent with last week’s figure.

Looking ahead, CoreLogic expects auction volumes will rise further next week, with an early view of volumes for the week ending 25 August 2024 showing around 2,130 homes are currently scheduled for auction across the combined capitals.
