LJ Hooker has expanded its presence across key markets with the opening of a new office in Sunbury, one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing suburbs.
The move aligns with the region’s major infrastructure developments, including a new rail link for the Metro Tunnel project set to open later this year.
Real estate principal and licensee, Adam Elsherif, has rebranded his independent agency to LJ Hooker Sunbury, stating the company’s strong market presence and brand recognition.
“In Sunbury and surrounding areas, most home owners are familiar with the LJ Hooker name, and our own research showed people were more open to business under a rebrand than if we stayed an independent office,” Elsherif said.
The transition follows the agency’s existing focus on Sunbury, with approximately 80 per cent of its property stock already based in the area.
Elsherif stated that the business initially grew through land development and word-of-mouth referrals in the area.
“It made sense to relocate here and start a new chapter,” he said.
Chris Keating, head of network Australia at LJ Hooker, welcomed Elsherif to the network and emphasised the benefits of the rebrand.
“Adam is motivated and ready to take operations to the next level, and being part of the LJ Hooker network will assist in opening up new opportunities and reaching those goals,” he said.
“It is important for LJ Hooker to have a presence and to be there helping both the current and next generation of home owners as we countdown to our centenary celebrations.”
Sunbury offers a mix of residential properties, lifestyle acreage estates, and high-end low-density developments.
The suburb is also undergoing significant public investment, including the expansion of the Sunbury Community Hospital, which saw the introduction of new urgent care, dialysis, and oncology spaces last year.
Several new schools are also planned for the region.
The new LJ Hooker office, located at the Sunbury Square Shopping Centre, will look after acreage, residential and commercial sales, as well as building a rent roll.
“It is a very vibrant market with several existing houses and land developments expected to deliver around 7,000 new homes and there will be future releases,” Elsherif said.
“Sunbury also has many older home owners living here and in surrounding suburbs who know and are comfortable with the LJ Hooker brand, so we feel we have made the move at the right time.”
