The display home experience is levelling up in NSW, with the news that Montgomery Homes is implementing virtual reality into its display home experience.

As part of the brand’s virtual reality tours, potential and soon-to-be home owners now have the option to visualise and experience their home before construction has completed, the company has reported.

The experience has been facilitated in partnership with EnvisionVR, a world-leading virtual reality platform for showcasing unbuilt properties.

There will be 11 house designs available as part of the experience, with buyers provided a realistic 1:1 scale of the property, allowing them to experience every area of the house with the aim of providing them with a true understanding of the size, space and scale of the property amongst other things, Montgomery Homes has reported.

Key to the user experience is the ability to walk through the property in an unobstructed space with no cords or cables presenting an injury threat.

Viewers are not only able to receive the full virtual reality experience at several Montgomery Homes locations, but, through the EnvisionVR app, they will also be able to access the app from a range of different locations, including their current residence or the vacant block upon which their future home will be built.

Additionally, customers will be able to undertake the experience, which will allow them to view inclusions and finishes such as tapware and colour right as well as visualise a range of floor plans on offer, with an agent who can walk them through their potential home.

Jamie Montgomery, managing director at Montgomery Homes, said the introduction of the virtual reality system should provide customers with peace of mind during the purchasing process.

“Overall Montgomery Homes has over 250 designs available,” he said. “But with only 28 homes physically on display, it can be difficult for customers to visualise their potential new home.

“Our new virtual display offering removes that barrier, with our 1:1 scale critical for customers to get a complete sense of the size and layout of each room to help their buying decision.”

This sentiment was shared by the company’s ambassador, Shaynna Blaze, who said the virtual reality system is a great tool that will assist first home buyers in making informed decisions.

“For many people buying a property is the biggest investment they will make in their life, so this is a great tool to help them understand spatial awareness within their property.

“We have seen other options previously where buyers can sit on a computer and have an overview of a property,” Ms Blaze said.

“But this is completely different as buyers can step into the space and walk around to give them a true sense of what they will be buying.

“The technology is extremely realistic, even to the detail of walking around coffee tables, which is great as it can be hard for people to visualise the finished product.”

Mr Montgomery concluded it was crucial for the business to continue to innovate and embrace new technology to help deliver the best service and experience possible to its clients.
