Selling Sunset’s Jason Oppenheim has followed Luxe Listings Sydney’s Gavin Rubinstein in aligning himself with the recently launched Ten Sixty platform.

The president and founder of The Oppenheim Group, which operates out of Los Angeles — and who also features prominently on Netflix’s hit show Selling Sunset, has been announced as the new global ambassador for the video marketing app, also known simply as 1060.

The app, first launched in Australia earlier this year, acts as a social network for the real estate industry to post 60-second clips for marketing purposes.

According to Mr Oppenheim, “the Ten Sixty team has managed to pull off, what many have attempted, a property platform and social network that actually works.”

From his perspective, “real estate is becoming more democratized by short form video”.

Short form video is a massive trend, and, in real estate, we are seeing an explosion in agents shooting video themselves, on the spot with their phones,” he highlighted.

What makes Ten Sixty different is that it’s so simple, any agent can shoot and post live to the world in sixty seconds. It makes real estate real time.”

He believes the app is moving real estate into a new dimension: “Where authenticity, social and fun is becoming a new way to sell and view real estate.

“Ten Sixty’s global luxury real estate feed allows anyone to scroll effortlessly through some of the world’s best homes and chat to agents in real time.”

It follows the naming of Gavin Rubinstein to the Australian ambassador role late last month. At that time, Mr Rubinstein expressed the belief that any agent not doing short videos is missing out on “massive” opportunities for engagement.
