Personalised real estate platform Soho.com.au has announced its collaboration with Sotheby’s.
The partnership will see properties from Sotheby’s International Realty showcased across the platform and is viewed by Soho chief executive officer and founder Jonathan Lui as a vital step in the company’s strategic growth plans within Australia.
“We’re excited to include the Sotheby’s International Realty brand’s portfolio of unique properties to the soho.com.au platform,” Mr Lui said, adding that the agency is “established and highly regarded”.
Mr Lui stated that the diversity of properties Sotheby’s provides — which equates to over 36,000 global properties across more than 80 countries and territories, including those across the brand’s 11 Australian offices spanning Queensland, NSW, Victoria, and Western Australia — “gives buyers more choices and allows our AI personalised platform to provide them with an even greater experience”.
Partnering with Sotheby’s will boost the proptech platform’s listing catalogue to over 60 per cent of all Australian properties.
The collaboration bolsters Soho’s growth strategy by securing a substantial portion of Australia’s luxury property listings on its real estate matching service.
The concept was founded in 2018 by Mr Lui, who also co-founded Airtasker, and has matched 1.7 million buyers and renters with properties in the last year, aiming to provide “a more personalised experience” to buyers, renters, and agents alike.
Unlike listing sites such as Domain, it employs a free-to-list policy.
“We’re continuing to see strong audience numbers and new listings increase on Soho, which shows we are a welcomed alternative for Aussies looking to buy and rent properties,” said Mr Lui.
The proptech company’s services were enlisted by national network McGrath in 2019, in what was described as a “step forward” by then head of sales Kon Stathopoulos, who stated: “Soho introduces a completely new opportunity for McGrath agents to connect with qualified profiles of buyers, investors, and owners.”
