Having revealed plans to acquire the Victorian boutique proptech provider late last year, the research house has now shared its finalisation of the deal.
REB reported on CoreLogic’s entrance into a binding agreement to acquire Plezzel, a provider of digital advertising and marketing support for the real estate industry, in December 2022.
Now, that deal is complete.
Plezzel is the brainchild of Geelong-based husband and wife proptech entrepreneurs Greg and Cecille McCutcheon, who kicked off the operation to provide digital automation and lead-gen tools to directors, agents and property marketing teams across the country.
Originally, the company went by the name Real Estate Bookings but changed its name to Plezzel back in 2018.
Thanks to the acquisition, Plezzel’s team and clients will now have access to CoreLogic’s “property data universe across Australia and New Zealand”, which will enable the service provider to “continually expand on its network and platform features”, it was reported.
According to Ms McCutcheon, that will in turn “allow Plezzel to accelerate its industry reach and allow the team to access valuable digital resources to further develop the platform’s capabilities.”
“With CoreLogic’s support, we’re looking forward to developing our innovative products further and working on an even larger scale to service real estate agents nationally and internationally,” Mrs McCutcheon said.
It was CoreLogic’s global backing and its reputation for setting industry best practices that formed another major attraction for Plezzel’s alliance, Mr McCutcheon shared.
Acknowledging that the company has spent more than a decade working alongside real estate agents, he commented, “The entire Plezzel team is excited about what this new phase means for the growth and expansion of what we’ve all worked so hard to build.”
Lisa Claes, the CEO of CoreLogic International, said it was listening to the needs of agents and their unique industry requirements that “led us to Plezzel”.
It comes as CoreLogic looks to grow through acquisitions such as Plezzel, aimed at providing their real estate clients “with an ever-increasing suite of powerful proptech tools”.
“By adding Plezzel’s innovations to CoreLogic’s own suite of real estate software solutions, we elevate the customer experience between agents and consumers, help them source leads and recognise market opportunities,” she shared.
Ms Claes also added that CoreLogic’s investment in sophisticated technology not only improves real estate efficiencies and revenue opportunities but complements “the company’s market-leading data and insights capabilities.”
