A new video app looking to change “the way real estate is marketed” was recently unveiled using an “old school” approach.
Set to be officially launched on 28 May at the upcoming Australasian Real Estate Conference (AREC) on the Gold Coast, the RealShortz app aims to provide a platform for property professionals to create and share short and casual vertical videos it claims are “snappy, authentic, and full of personality”.
The latest app from proptech firm Properti enables real estate professionals to utilise videos for various purposes, including property showcasing, market updates, addressing inquiries from potential buyers, and facilitating interactive discussions.
Additionally, the app provides features for tracking video views and engagement, allowing real estate professionals to monitor audience interaction effectively.
But while “digital is fundamentally changing the way real estate is marketed”, the app’s co-founder, Craig Deveson, highlighted “sales are still about interpersonal relationships”.
To emphasise this point, Mr Deveson rode his bike from Noosa to Byron Bay with RealShortz co-founder Babette Coutanche heading up the support car, and met with real estate agents along the way to introduce them to the app.
“[I] I knew I needed to get out on my bike and meet the agents, even if that meant having business meetings in my Lycra!” Mr Deveson stated.
He also underlined the significance of creating real-world content to establish meaningful connections with prospective customers.
“When you meet someone in person, you can make a real connection with them. That’s why I wanted to start by meeting with agents in person, before launching the app.
“That kind of connection is also what makes vertical video so successful. It’s more personal, a little less polished, and a lot more relatable,” he explained.
The app founder expressed his belief the new app will be able to build such a connection between parties in a real estate transaction.
“RealShortz is a powerful tool that can help agents sell more homes,” said Mr Deveson. “It’s easy to use, and it’s a great way to connect with potential buyers, sellers, and anyone else with an interest in property.”
