A proptech looks to banish the hassle of organising vendor services.

SellSmart is an “agency-branded concierge services platform” that is designed to remove barriers to securing authority, bring properties to market faster, strengthen agencies’ third-party supplier relationships and deliver exceptional communication.

Describing it as a “white-label concierge experience”, co-founder Courtney Bugeja explained that the firm is looking to free agents up to focus on the most important aspects of their job, while also allowing them to provide the type of service to clients that sellers keenly value when faced with the laundry list of tasks associated with selling a house.

She calls it a “closing tool” that helps agents to offer a myriad of services throughout the sales journey, such as conveyancing, styling, painting and removalists to name a few.

“Even simple jobs like a quick paint job and garden tidy-up require up to 20 emails and numerous phone calls,” Bugeja noted.

“Coordinating quotes, appointments, sign-off and payment take an enormous amount of time for both agents and trades. SellSmart’s simple platform takes over these tasks by eliminating site visits and speeding up the process of coordinating with service partners, allowing agents to focus on dollar-productive activities.”

And while the challenge of finding and coordinating with trusted trades is a substantial friction point addressed by the app, it’s not all they do, as a partnership with CampaignAgent also allows agents to offer a pay-later option for all these services.

Bugeja spoke about the importance of being able to defer the upfront costs of selling, noting that logistic hurdles are far from the only thing causing vendors to pull back on important tasks that help them get the best price.

“In many ways, funding is the biggest blocker. Over 80 per cent of SellSmart customers choose to Pay Later for their work, and the ability to seamlessly offer finance makes it easy for agents to recommend the work in the first place and easy for vendors to accept,” she explained.

And in the current economic climate, that solution is more needed than ever.

“As the cost-of-living crisis has expanded with interest rate increases, so has the take-up on Pay Later. By combining the innovation of SellSmart with CampaignAgent’s deep payment and funding expertise, vendors and agents are given a truly one-stop solution,” she said.

Noting that the product is free for agents to use (payment comes from service providers who are charged a fee when they receive payment through the platform) Bugeja said the end goal is to easily facilitate home-selling associated tasks for everyone involved, resulting in “happy vendors and market-ready homes”.

The platform is slated for its official launch across Victoria, NSW and Queensland on 1 July.
