  • LJ Hooker Group launches strategy for growth
  • Laser-focused on franchising its house of brands to service more markets and supporting its offices in growing their market share and profitability
  • Strategy will see the iconic LJ Hooker brand to its centenary in 2028

The LJ Hooker Group has announced its strategy for growth, branded LJH100, underpinned by five competitive advantages, a cultural purpose and new, modern company values.

Christine Mikhael, CEO of the LJ Hooker Group, said when developing LJH100, the business needed a strategy that would deliver significant and sustainable growth and ways to positively impact its offices and their customers and communities.

"At the same time, we knew we had many strengths to draw on and reignite, like LJ Hooker's super brand recognition, history of innovation, scale and people.

"We have the full weight and support of our Board of Directors and the best team in corporate and across our network to now deliver our strategy".

LJH100 was first presented to attendees at LJ Hooker's Pinnacle conference late last year and then, shortly after, released to LJ Hooker Group's LJ Hooker, Atlas and Harveys offices.

Ms Mikhael said the vision for LJH100 is to be Australia and New Zealand's most profitable at-scale network to lead the industry into the next 100 years.

"Being profitable means we can reinvest back into people, innovation, growth, performance, training, events, and fun, to name a few, to create our bright future together," she said.

"At-scale means we can negotiate valuable enterprise agreements, create greater internal referral opportunities for our offices and their teams, and impact and influence industry decisions to take a true leadership position."

Five core advantages underpin the LJH100 strategy:

  • People Advantage: a high-performance, high-trust culture that's empowered, motivated and connected
  • Operational Advantage: best practice systems, processes and technologies that create superior efficiency and effectiveness
  • Experiential Advantage: superior connection to markets and customers to better deliver to diverse and changing needs, wants and expectations
  • Scale Advantage: strategy expansion across Australia and New Zealand to profitably grow its brands' footprints and drive economies of scale for all
  • Reputational Advantage: a house of brands that are unparalleled in trust and respected in the industry

"LJH100 also includes our new, modern values, which will guide us in everything we do. From how we work and collaborate, attract, and retain talent and offices to how we choose to partner, just to name a few," Ms Mikhael said.

These values, which form the acronym CARE, are:

  • Commitment: to teamwork, collaboration, communications, sharing mutual care and mutual trust
  • Ambition: to achieve, to grow, to lead, to innovate, to be better
  • Responsibility: to each other, to our communities, and our environment, taking responsibility and accountability for our roles and actions
  • Excellence: to best practice and high standards, to exceed expectations and deliver quality in all areas of our business

"We are a vastly different business to what we were ten years, five years and even two years ago to today," Ms Mikhael said.

"LJH100 represents our new chapter and will see us to our centenary in 2028.

"I'm passionate amongst our corporate team and offices that we all link together to deliver our advantages where they matter most and lead our industry into the next 100 years."
