Australia’s most iconic real estate brand has continued its growth in the Western Australia market with the launch of LJ Hooker Port Hedland – the network’s third new office to be unveiled in the State in just a few weeks.
Local real estate agent Caine Otley has rebranded his independently run business as LJ Hooker Port Hedland in a strategic move to increase both property sales and management. It comes after a 26-year absence of the brand in the popular Pilbara township.
“We need a brand to support our future growth, so we see this as a move to make us even more competitive,” said Mr Caine, who has run his own successful agency for six years.
“We did our research and were really impressed by LJ Hooker’s systems, support and training. It is a very different franchise model and comes with a lot of added value to our business such as attracting and retaining experienced staff.”
General Manager of Network Australia, Stephen Mutton, welcomed Mr Otley and his team to the network during a time of exciting growth for the LJ Hooker brand in Western Australia.
It follows last month’s opening of LJ Hooker South West in Busselton and LJ Hooker City Residential’s recent purchase of an established real estate agency at Yokine, in Perth’s inner-northern suburbs.
“There is a lot of energy within our network in Western Australia with new businesses coming on board and established offices looking to expand into different markets,” Mr Mutton said.
“It is important for us to have strong ties between the East and the West as we continue to see the migration of people across the two sides of the country.
“LJ Hooker is a brand that people know and trust. And there are wonderful new opportunities both in the Perth metro and regional markets being driven by affordability, demand and attractive investment returns - and we want to be part of it.”
Former owner of LJ Hooker Port Hedland, Barry Pound, made a special trip to the township to congratulate Mr Otley on opening the new office. He was thrilled to see LJ Hooker re-opening after such a long absence.
“It is great to see LJ Hooker back in Port Headland – it will also complement LJ Hooker Karratha and deliver another level of customer service to the Pilbara region,” he said.
LJ Hooker City Residential's exciting acquisition and re-branding of The Professionals Kelly Group – which has been established for 30 years – also opened last week. The new office in Yokine will act as a satellite to its main headquarters in East Perth and starts an exciting new chapter for the business.
The purchase will also add to their busy agency’s property management division, which already manages more than $3 billion worth of real estate.
“Many of our businesses in Western Australia have invested heavily into their business and by doing a lot of acquisition of rent rolls they are doing well financially through strategic planning,” Mr Mutton said.
Rebecca Halton, Chief Executive Officer of LJ Hooker City Residential, said they had been searching for the right opportunity to further grow their brand across the Perth metropolitan region.
“The timing was perfect for us as we were ready to buy another business and this is located in what we had identified as a key growth area,” Ms Halton said.
“Perth’s inner-northern suburbs are within easy reach of the city centre and popular with families and professionals as well as having investor appeal. We are delighted to take the LJ Hooker brand to Yokine and its surrounding suburbs and provide the next level of service to customers.”
